Path & Light exists to encourage a life shaped by Scripture, prayer and fellowship with other believers. Our work begins with these convictions, and our hope is that the app helps you turn your attention toward God.
The Bible is our authority
We believe the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God. Scripture is the final measure of what we believe and how we live. A reflection, a devotional or an AI answer must be tested against the biblical text; none has authority to revise it.
We approach a passage in its context and in light of the whole Bible. Careful study matters, and difficult verses should not be used in isolation to make easy promises.
One God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
We confess one living and eternal God, existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each is truly God, equal in glory. God is holy, just, merciful and faithful; our worship and our trust belong to him.
Jesus Christ is our Savior and Lord
Jesus Christ, the eternal Son, became truly human without ceasing to be God. He lived without sin, died for sinners and rose bodily from the dead. He reigns as Lord and will come again. Our hope rests in who he is and what he has accomplished.
Salvation is God’s gift
We cannot earn reconciliation with God through achievement or religious effort. We are saved by his grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Repentance, obedience and love are responses to that grace, not a price we pay for it.
No subscription, reading streak or completed prayer makes a person more worthy of God’s love. The app’s reminders and progress features are practical aids, never a measure of someone’s standing before God.
The Holy Spirit gives life and understanding
The Holy Spirit brings new life, dwells in believers and forms them in holiness. We depend on his work to understand and receive God’s Word. Software can organize information and prompt a moment of reflection; it cannot bring about conversion or supply spiritual discernment.
Christian life belongs in community
We value the local church: its worship, teaching, sacraments, mutual care and accountability. Personal reading and prayer belong alongside that shared life. Path & Light is not a congregation, a pastor or a substitute for relationships with people who know and care for you.
Our doctrinal foundation
We adhere to the Westminster Confession of Faith as our doctrinal framework, subject to the authority of Scripture. Its teaching on Scripture’s sufficiency, clarity and interpretation informs the principles below.
We welcome readers from other Christian traditions. Welcoming those readers does not erase our convictions. When explaining a disputed question, our aim is to identify the relevant traditions and represent their views fairly, rather than present one interpretation as universal agreement.
Technology should serve faithfully
We want our work to honor God through honesty, care and responsible design. We aim to help people read attentively and pray sincerely. We remain dependent on God’s grace and open to correction; building a polished product does not make its creators spiritually authoritative.
How these beliefs guide our use of AI
Scripture is sufficient
The Bible contains what we need to know for salvation and faithful living. AI may help explore a passage or compare explanations, but it does not add revelation or uncover a message that God withheld until a model could produce it. You do not need this app to encounter Scripture.
Understanding is more than information
A model produces language; it does not pray, believe or possess the Holy Spirit’s discernment. Treat its output as material to examine, not as God speaking personally to you.
Answers need to be checked
AI can misquote a verse, invent a reference or give a confident but mistaken interpretation. Read the cited passage, consider its context and consult trusted teachers. Our doctrinal commitments describe our intended standard; they are not a guarantee that every generated answer meets it.
People remain accountable
Individual AI replies are not reviewed by a pastor or theologian before you see them. Important questions deserve human conversation and thoughtful study. If something in the app misrepresents Scripture, contact us with the passage and the concern. We welcome the opportunity to examine and correct errors.
